A shipper checked me out and called me direct

Years of chasing rates on the boards. Reefer, mostly the southeast. The boards aren't really the problem, it's that every load has somebody taking a slice and you're always one slow week from scraping. What changed for me was a produce shipper I'd hauled for through a broker decided to find carriers they could deal with direct. They looked me up. Insurance current, authority clean, a few years of it sitting right there for anyone to see. They told me later that's basically why they reached out to me instead of somebody else, they could check me in a minute without taking a stranger's word for it. Two direct lanes now, Lakeland to Atlanta and back loaded, every week. Better money, and I know who I'm dealing with. Took me a long time to build a record worth showing. It's something that it finally counts somewhere.
